In most cases leaders are struggling to stay current.  The reality is that the leadership and management practices of the past are just not enough for the demands of today.  Most of the time, the challenge is not  lack of ideas or strategy, but the ability to effectively execute on that idea or strategy, and align teams and the whole organization behind it so everyone is pulling in the same direction around commonly agreed and well-known objectives.
